“How’s business in Yonkers? Booming.”
On the Boyce Thompson Center construction site in Yonkers, Chef Christian Petroni sat on a cinder block and looked towards the rafters of the newest Forina’s raw space with a fire in his eyes. At the Hudson River Museum, Director Masha Turchinsky glided through halls graced with Warhol’s and Wythe’s before landing on the threshold of Red Grooms’ The Bookstore—one of the museum’s permanent installations—to discuss the developing arts scene. In a small space draped floor-to-ceiling with high-quality Italian linen, Linoto’s owner, Jason Evege, spoke about why he moved his luxury textile business from the NYC garment district to a few blocks from the Ludlow MetroNorth station.
Something big is happening in Yonkers, and it deserves to be captured.
